How to Know God’s Vision for your Life
A primary way to obtain God’s vision can be found in our main text: “Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God]” (Proverbs 29:18). In this text, the opposite of being without God’s vision is given as “keeping the law of God”. This means that when we keep/obey the Word of God, we are excluded from those who are without vision. In other words, obeying the law or word of God is what gives and makes us people of vision. Even so, you cannot obey God’s word if you do not know what the word says. Thus, we are to give ourselves to hearing, reading, and meditating on God’s Word. This is how we get to know His will, and as we keep His word, we become people of vision since God’s Word constitute His will and vision for us. Having the knowledge of God’s will and obeying it is also how we walk in a manner worthy of the Lord to please Him in all respects, and bear fruit in every good work (Colossians 1:9-10; James 1:22).
As we cherish and heed the commandments of God, we are promised the following blessings: “When you walk about, they (the commandments) will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk to you” (Proverbs 6:22). If you have the word or commandments of God guiding, watching over, and talking to you, then you will be one who is filled with the revelation of God’s will and vision. The Bible is God talking to you. As long as you follow it, you are being guided by God Himself, as you hear the very voice of God. When we open our eyes to see and open our ears to hear God’s Word, we are given the blessing to understand it with our hearts so that we can obey it and bear the very fruits God expects us to bear (Matthew 13:15; John 15:1-5, 10).
Another sure way to know God’s vision for our lives is to walk in the fear of the Lord since this is a special blessing reserved for those who fear the Lord: “Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way he should choose” (Psalm 25:12). To fear the Lord is to reverence Him, and the proof that you have the reverential fear the Lord is that you depart from evil: “By the fear of the Lord, men depart from evil” (Proverbs 16:6). It is the same truth we read in 2 Corinthians 7:1: “….let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 7:1). To fear the Lord is not just to merely have respect for the Lord but to behold both His kindness as well as His severity lest we become conceited and fall from grace (Romans 11:20-22). When we fear the Lord, we also tremble at His word, and by this we attract the Lord’s undivided attention, His leading, and favour in our affairs (see Isaiah 66:2). By the fear of the Lord, God leads us in the way you should God and shows us His vision for our lives.

A Very Important Message
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). Therefore, If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, I invite you to put your faith in Him. Pray the prayer below to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour: “I come to you God in Jesus’ name and surrender my life unto you. I repent of my sins and I ask You to forgive me all my sins. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and I believe with my heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead. I thank you God for saving me, in Jesus name, Amen”. If you sincerely prayed this prayer, believe and be assured that you are saved, for the Bible says that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13, Romans 10:9-10, Acts 16:31).
