The Wisdom of God
In 1 Corinthians 10:13, we are told that God provides a way of escape for every trial that comes our way so that we are able to bear and overcome it. God’s way of escape is the only safe passage out of every storm. Every other escape route will only worsen the storm. However, God’s way of escape may not be what we may suppose as the obvious way out since His ways and thoughts are incomparably higher than ours (cf. Isaiah 55:9). Moreover, there is a way that seems right to a man but it ends in death (Proverbs 14:12). This calls for wisdom. I believe this is also a reason why the Scriptures exhorts us to ask God for wisdom if we lack it, after we were admonished that trials are part of the Christian life (James 1:2-5). Applying God’s wisdom in every storm equates to walking in the way of escape He has provided for that trial. It is by wisdom that our lives are going to be preserved no matter what storm comes our way (cf. Ecclesiastes 7:12b).
There is a wisdom that is earthly, which the bible calls unspiritual and demonic (James 3:14-15). This is the type of wisdom that is self-centred, leaves God out, and supposes it can overcome through its own ingenuity. This type of wisdom brings no relief from the storms of life but keeps us in bondage continually. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy (James 3:17). This is how we will know that we are operating in the godly wisdom that leads to escape. How do we attain to this wisdom?
Our journey towards wisdom begins with having the reverential fear of God in our hearts just as we read in Scripture: “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…” (Proverbs 9:10, Psalm 111:10). Once we make the choice to obey, honour, and revere God, He also honours us with His wisdom (cf. 1 Samuel 2:30, Proverbs 9:10). Being without wisdom is not God’s will for us. But if we lack wisdom in our lives or the wisdom to deal with specific situations or storms, then we are to ask for it from God in faith, doubting nothing. This is our only guarantee that we shall receive it from God – when we ask in faith (James 1:5-8). Jesus Christ has also become our wisdom from God for all those who believe in Him (1 Corinthians 1:30). As we humble ourselves before Him and look unto Him in all things, we shall walk and abide in the wisdom of God. Jesus Christ is also the Word of God (John 1:1). Here is wisdom: acquaint yourself with God’s Word, meditate on it, let it dwell richly in you, and obey it. And you will be full of divine wisdom.

A Very Important Message
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). Therefore, If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, I invite you to put your faith in Him. Pray the prayer below to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour: “I come to you God in Jesus’ name and surrender my life unto you. I repent of my sins and I ask You to forgive me all my sins. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and I believe with my heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead. I thank you God for saving me, in Jesus name, Amen”. If you sincerely prayed this prayer, believe and be assured that you are saved, for the Bible says that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13, Romans 10:9-10, Acts 16:31).
