How to Overcome
In Matthew 7:24-27, we read the following, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. “The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” From these words of Jesus, we learn that you don’t need to be an evil or a good person to encounter storms. You don’t necessarily have to do anything to invite storms into your life; merely being a human being is enough to bring storms your way. So the real question is not whether a storm will come or not, but whether you will survive and thrive through it when it shows up.
But there is good news. Jesus has given us the master key to overcome every storm we may ever face. The key is to hear (read, listen to, study) the Words of Jesus, the Word of God, and then act on them (Matthew 7:24-25). This is not to be done passively or casually but it must become our very way of life. Once you are doing this, the storm can do its worst, but you will still be standing long after the storm is over. This is how we build godly fortifications in our lives to prevail against every storm. It is the same truth we read in James 1:22-25, “But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves… But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does”.
In the words of Jesus, hearing and acting on His words is wisdom (Matthew 7:24). The opposite is also true; to hear and not act on His Word word is another definition of foolishness (Matthew 7:26). Because we are forewarned that in these last days perilous times shall come (2 Timothy 3:1), let’s determine to give ourselves to hear and obey the word of God. This is the wisdom we need to overcome every storm and live in victory in these last days.

A Very Important Message
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). Therefore, If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, I invite you to put your faith in Him. Pray the prayer below to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour: “I come to you God in Jesus’ name and surrender my life unto you. I repent of my sins and I ask You to forgive me all my sins. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and I believe with my heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead. I thank you God for saving me, in Jesus name, Amen”. If you sincerely prayed this prayer, believe and be assured that you are saved, for the Bible says that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13, Romans 10:9-10, Acts 16:31).
